The right link.......http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/645882

oh man...

herpa derp derp

I learned alot which was good.

Also I found alot of things out about the program that I didn't know were possible. I also found a way to convert my BVH motion to vmd which will help alot making smoother and more lifelike animations.

This was made before that other test video which is a different project and what I'm working on currently

Seems you put the wrong link, lol.

A fantastic video truthfully Green Hills is the epitome of your artistic career, i am so glad that we get you to share this with all of us, and it was so different to your normal stuff quite the surprise, somehow it has nothing to do with this one http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/645882 .

(herpa derp derp indeed! hahaha)

Wrong link, lol. Green Hills? You watched THAT!?!?

Oh man oh man oh man....

Right before I logged off, I saw Gunmetal Black show up.... only to find the submission got pulled O_O
Cool, at least you got it back, only had to wait a few hours.

I was just reminded by TomYoxic about how sucky it is sitting alone, putting all this shit together. I spent about a year bent over a video editor, endlessly scrolling around tapes, to make poop look good :/ Really glad to hear you're keeping your head in the game (new programs) and sounding good. Just don't be alone!

it's tough to work with people only because now I'm doing 3D- which is pretty much all me since it's hard to find someone doing the same thing I am with the same programs.

I'm looking at old forum posts and trying to figure out how Monty Oum did it, since his dead fantasy series is pretty awesome.

The most annoying part is figuring out how to do everything without much guidance or piecing it together from forum posts and downloading obscure japanese programs that have no documentation in english or japanese and then figuring out how they work by trial and error.

alot of wasted time....

i wish i had started all this when I was 20.....cept I didn't have internet back then...

I didn't have internet either (early on), but without the distractions of the internet, I knew everything about my computer, and how to make it purr. Well, I knew how to break it, than fix it... What about going on Torrents and just picking up some mainstream program, or Lightwave?

Lightwave is needlessly complex-

I found iclone to be the easiest- the main reason with sticking with MMD was I didn't want to hunt around to find a way to convert all of the character assets and scenes and props into another program-

Now I'll just animate the raw motion in iclone or something and import it into MMD.

Also alot of those programs like Lightwave or Poser are kind of too much for my comp to handle and render times for simple things are way too long.

Also for some reason I could never get the poser library to work which defeats the purpose of using it if I can't import anything.

You'd also be suprised with the amount of addons that even things like poser and iclone do not have or you have to buy

Lightwave is properly anal, guess that's one of the big reasons why my buddy didn't want to go in on a Video Toaster (Amiga) with me. I noticed some of the enemy landing noises weren't properly synched in the last half. If you need to buy more software/hardware, maybe pass the hat in your next post. Check out the electronics recycling bin at your town/county recycling yard, it's amazing what people throw away.

I think the frame rate got slightly messed up upon render which messed up the sync- Also I did the audio backwards in this- adding it post animation. Now I'm doing it the opposite way- mixing the sound then animating to it which should fix that issue.

The only thing they have around me unfortunately are overpriced old electronics- Laptops and comps from 5 to 7 years ago that cost the same as a brand new one evevn at second shops. The recyclers here ship all the computer and electronic/ appliance stuff somewhere else since its not locally sorted. At my current stage I really shouldn't ask people for patreon stuff- It's just not enough quality to justify it, but maybe in upcoming projects

I hope you blew that money (I donated) on yourself hon, but maybe all future proceeds could go to a new computer... you need to find a rich older man, like me ;) lol.

I was really hoping they'd make mother boards with multiple CPU slots, but noooo, they just make the chips they already have more expensive. Could always make a specific, small time pitch for a good video card, I'm thinking about getting a GeForce 750 Ti, low power requirements, but can still keep pace with newer apps, it's about 140$

I actually used it to get PS3 Eye cameras for mocap- Unfortunately though the setup did not work and I should have just gotten another kinect.

The PS3 eyes use more CPU than is necessary and although I got three of them- After reading up on them when trying to get the setup I had envisioned to work- It turns out the Kinect depth camera is superior for my size and space setup.

The problem with the PS3 eyes is they're great if you have more space but due to my space constraint- the closer you are to the camera the worse the resolution. They had a variable zoom that I thought would work when I got them but it turns out setting was more like Far zoom and Super far zoom so there's no close up. Figures that out of all the browsing and research I did before hand when I first wanted to get serious about 3D- I didn't find this info since its not something people mention until they're in the same position. =(

Sry it ended up being a waste of money since I don't have the space. I really hate myself for that. I really appreciate it thought. My computer itself is pretty good with MMD- I don't really want to get into a different program like poser because then that would be more time learning a new program- setting it up- importing and rigging models rather than just plain animating- which is what I really need to work on.

Eventually I'll probably get another kinect and then the mocap data will be really tight and dead on and the animation more life like- In the meantime I can mix hand animation with mocap and just practice more.

I'm working on another project that will hopefully show some of the things I learned. I really wish that I had started this stuff earlier- I hate to be so behind the curve at my age...its really frustrating.

Wait, wait... What were you gonna do with the link to Green Hills anyway?

it was just a mistake - my submission had the same numbers but I forgot to add the last number and it was green hills.

just glad it wasn't something wierder

Aww, I thought you had went with the Kinect, but that was a while ago. Really sorry the dolts online didn't properly and timely review the PS mocap cameras. You could always sell them on Ebay or something... Gamestop would probably buy them back, but they suck (their shareholders) ding dong.

I'm still very proud of you, fellow producer!
