Don't see exactly why not, you haven't mentioned any particular cons besides the potential issue of maintaining pace and i wouldn't know what the pitfalls are potentially.

Submitting your work for consideration at festivals is something you should venture to do anyway, online traffic is a terrible yardstick for how well or not your work is actually received because it's incredibly random and utterly inconsistent feedback for somebody who works on long term projects.

The only people that can garner practical insight from it are those that continually release content, typically of the short term project variety. on a schedule and whose entire undertaking centers primarily on pandering to their target audience.

The major downside is wasted time. If I make a short film that takes several months to do- that's several months i'm not releasing other stuff. And deending on reception it could be a collosal waste of time/ huge flop

This channel has sort of changed from silly random comedy stff into more darker tone action drama stuff lately- so I guess the people that like that stuff will enjoy it but NG as a whole? Who knows? Movies on NG are hit and miss. There are some really classic ones that are amazing like Lucky day forever, the reward, but then there are others that just fall into oblvion

Ok, well if you put it like that then i think the question really becomes something along the lines of just how badly do you want to do it, you know for the sake of doing it.

The ambition behind it and the reality of going through the motions might not add up for you, especially if public reception is sort of your brass ring in all this, you could be right in that said months might be better spent somehow.

Who knows, it might be the right time to go looking for somebody who can help you with your workload instead of cooking up even more ambitious projects as i gather the episode format you're doing is already a truckload of work as is.
