This infection thing has been a real menace. It's been a fucking month and I still sound like garbage and I've run through every OTC medication and every wannabe hippie retard's homeopathic suggestion with seemingly no result yet. Every time I think I might be getting better I experience suddenly having a day where I feel the worst yet.

As soon as anything's good to ship, you'll have it. Or I'll die, which at this point is an acceptable alternative.

Looks really cool! and really detailed, I watched your last 3d video because I'm doing 3d animation myself. Looking forward to the next episode :)

Xrd has always been interesting to me, in that it had such fantastic results for an experimenting team that didn't really know what it were doing.

Still, there are contributing factors I doubt you would be able to replicate easily. You probably have much more practical experience in 3D animation than me, but I doubt your current shaders would reproduce the same effect as Xrd's, seeing as the team basically handcrafted everything from the posing to the lighting. No jagged edges for shadows, no sir. There's also no interpolation either (taking frames out Polygon Pictures style isn't going to cut it), and you need to have knowledge of good ol' 2D animation like smears to do what the Xrd team did. So pretty much stopmotion digitally. I also doubt you have high poly models made in Softimage, just saying.

Do you use Catmull subdivision by any chance?

Also, good tip, try using painted textures for your backgrounds. Make them yourself if you have to. I'm pretty sure anime has been using CGI environments for a while now with painted textures being used. If not try out compositing.

Yah in the first Gunmetal black I used smears on the models and it looked pretty good. For this one however I ony used a smear for the spear/staff movement which looks pretty good. I have to experiment more on doing that still.

The painted textures can be done with a program called Piranesi or another way could be just taking a picture of the existing background and then painting over it and then using something like 2d billboard for shots.

I did find it interesting not using any interpolation in some scenes, things definately look more 2D but i didnt do that in every scene yet but I'm learning bit by bit

Everything changed and I have no idea why. I'm so confused. Lol.

lol yup changed all the character models....for the 3rd time. Though I promise I won't change em anymore.

3D's starting to look really good there.

hell yeah!!! YEAH!!!! now we r talking, but that chick in green (6th picture) she kinda looks like Eri from Metal Slug.

so is the a series (will have episodes) or one single movie?

It's a series- I already made 2 episode so far- Check my page. The first one was a concept episode. The other was episode 1 although I used different character models than this one

Sweet news. 3D-2D combinations have always been very, very interesting to me. I do believe that between these realms lie a new art form just waiting to blossom. Anyhow, good schtuff, will be looking forward to more of your work!

I CAN't wait to see this!

kellz you've advanced so much ;_:

Amazing Kelz,
Nice to see you're still putting quality stuff all these years :D

Hey! I remember you!

Nice to see you're still around doing stuff =D
